The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) announces short and long term changes.

Boarding change, delays between LaSalle and Grand

Tues., Dec. 15 at 11 p.m. to Wed., Dec. 16, at 4 a.m.

Board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Jackson, Monroe, Washington and Clark stations.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between LaSalle and Grand.

This is maintenance work to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Blue Line.

Boarding change, delays between Grand and LaSalle

Thurs., Dec. 17 at 11 p.m. to Fri., Dec. 18 at 4 a.m.

Board and exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe, and Jackson stations.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Grand and LaSalle.

This work is addressing signal improvements, allowing trains to operate more efficiently along the Blue Line as part of the Your New Blue modernization program.

Montrose Station Entrances

South Entrance Reopens

North Entrance Temporary Closes
Fri., Dec 18, 2020, at  9 a.m. to Tue., June 1, 2021, or completion

During the north entrance closure, use the newly reopened south entrance/exit located across the street on the south side of Montrose Avenue.

For safety, please cross the street at signal-protected crosswalks only – located nearest the station at Knox Avenue to the west and at Kilbourn Avenue to the east.

Note: The westbound #78 Montrose bus stop in front of the north entrance is temporarily discontinued during the entrance closure. Please board/exit westbound buses at Montrose/Kilbourn or at Montrose/Knox.

This work is being done because of IDOT construction on the Montrose Street bridge over the I-290 Expressway.
