Back-to-school celebrations are starting Saturday in Pulaski Park

Jesse White Tumblers are always a crowd pleaser

A Back-to-School Fair and Family Fest sponsored by 2nd Ward Alderman Hopkins will be filled with activities Saturday, Aug. 6, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in Pulaski Park, 1419 W. Blackhawk.

Split between participation and observation, an event highlight will be the ever popular Jesse White tumblers. They are scheduled to perform at 2 p.m.

During the six- hour free event, there will be a water slide, pony and camel rides, two jumping jacks and other activities as well as face painting.

Inside the Field House, there will be school material giveaways and a health fair area. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be asthma screening and immunizations.

By the time kids leave the event, they will be able to check off several back-to-school requirements.
