Milwaukee, Wolcott and Wood proposed changes meeting July 27
Residents and businesses in the area of Milwaukee, Wolcott and Wood have an opportunity to get an update and express any concerns about proposed changes of the three street intersection at the site, on July 27 at 7 p.m., hosted by the WPB (SSA #33).
Using the Place Making workshop protocol, participants can vote on the proposed changes after discussion with representatives of the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), the Metropolitan Planning Commission, Sam Schwartz Engineering who will be on hand to explain the changes of the traffic signals as well as the curbs, pavers and other improvement.
Planning for changes to make the traffic and pedestrian experience safer and less confusing began with discussions of the Master Plan. To date the State has committed to $500,000 for the traffic signal changes. Both Alderman Moreno, 1st Ward, and the WPB have committed to $25,000 each toward the anticipated cost of the other modifications.
